Flocked Christmas Tree - Decorated with Old, New, and Christopher Radko Ornaments

If you have been following me for a while, you know that we go a little crazy when it comes to Christmas decorations.  But, we’d like to think that we do it in a tasteful, elegant way! 

In our master bedroom, we have a flocked tree that is filled with ornaments from my childhood as well as The Hubby’s, even the ones made by hand that have lasted through the years.  We have also managed to hold onto a few very old ornaments that came from my grandmother and great-grandmother - all still in tact!

As our boys started making ornaments, they were added to this tree.  Most of their crafted ornaments go on their own flocked tree that is in their bedroom (yes, I know, crazy), but some are on ours.   

We also have ornaments that we have collected from our travels over the years along with special ornaments that have been given to us.

To fill out the look of the tree, we have a collection of Christopher Radko ornaments.  These are beautifully crafted, we have some that represent the years our boys were born, some that are very large and some that are smaller.  We love them.   Here are a few photos. 

 

 

Typically, we purchase these after Christmas when we can get them at a discount – or even on eBay for a good price.  These can be pricey, needless to say we have never paid full price for one!

Foyer Christmas Decorations

How much decorating takes over your house at Christmas?  We have quite a bit - but I love sharing what we do - hopefully to inspire others!

 

Our foyer focuses on red...which is nice, because it is right next to the dining room with a fully decorated red tree!  We have two smaller trees in the foyer with simple decorations with words such as Love, Peace, and Joy. 

 

Poinsettias all around plus a chair with a throw complete the look.  It is certainly a festive place to sit and rest during the busy holiday season!

 

DIY Wine Cork Christmas Trees Topped With Ribbon

Last year, somewhat out of nowhere, I decided to build a Wine Cork Christmas Tree based on an image I saw on Pinterest.  It has gotten a lot of attention on my blog as well as on Pinterest.  Most recently, Target chose it to share on their Instagram page!

This year, The Hubby decided to build a set of three trees using different sizes of the Floracraft Styrofoam Cones that we purchased at Michaels.  These served as the base and then he used a hot glue gun to attach the corks.  I added the ribbon to the top of each and they came out beautifully!

Wine Themed Christmas Tree

This holiday season, I wanted to share the variety of Christmas trees that decorate our home this time of year.  Here's the first one - and religiously the first tree I work on each year. 

The idea behind this tree started in our first home.  Our lower level was complete with a tasting area and wine storage the size of a closet.  We had a skinny tree that was the perfect addition to the space.  Upon moving, we no longer had such a specific area dedicated to wine consumption!  But - it fits perfectly in the corner of our breakfast room.

We have collected cool wine ornaments over the years - some of them were sets that even came with wedges of cheese!  I even have a crystal wine glass ornament that came all the way from one of my favorite crystal manufacturer's - the Waterford store in Ireland (thanks Mom & Dad!) 

The rest of the tree is covered with lots of artificial grapes, berries, and raffia.  The tree skirt was an easy choice - we bought 3 yards of burlap, perfect!
